It\u00b4s 33 meters wide and 130 meters long! (Thats\u00b4108 feet wide and 426 feet long). It is currently in the Netherlands, where a giant crane and an even bigger tower is being mounted. The crane alone can lift 900 tons! It is huge, this ship! I feel so honored to be one of three artists chosen to decorate this ship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.technip.com\/en\/vessel\/skandi-africa\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19283\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/skandk_africa.jpg\" alt=\"skandk_africa\" width=\"252\" height=\"160\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Read more about the ship by clicking the picture above)<\/p>\n<p>I\u00b4ve been onboard for three days now, getting everything up (around 140 pictures all together). With me I had Elise, who\u00b4s the head procurment-manager for the ship. And such a delight to work with. I am happy to take you on a little art-tour of the ship <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/simple-smile-8.png\" alt=\":-)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19273\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2015-04-15-11.00.09-450x266-1.gif\" alt=\"2015-04-15-11.00.09\" width=\"450\" height=\"266\"><\/p>\n<p>Let\u00b4s start in the mess. It\u00b4s the biggest of the common-areas rooms, with seating for 110. The color-scheme is light green, and we pieced pictures to match and contrast. My pictures are matched with Kyrre M\u00f8gster\u00b4s oil-paintings of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19313\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/UstadigeSkudesnes.kopi_-450x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"UstadigeSkudesnes.kopi\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUstadige Skudenes\/unreliable Skudenes\u201d<\/em>, 60\u00d790 cm<\/p>\n<p>There is accommodation for 140 people onboard, and I can reveal that they will not go hungry. I made&amp;amp;nbsp;a relief-series of the history of shipping. A bit abridged. Originally this and some of the other pictures were made for a ship called Skandi Bergen, and the Captain wanted some pictures from the city. The room has big windows, from ceiling to floor, and is filled with light. The Captain took us on a tour of the ship before we left, and I am in awe of all the knowledge needed &amp;amp;nbsp;that culminates in building a ship like this.<\/p>\n<p>The ship doesn\u00b4t get baptized until August, they still need some time to mount the big crane and tower on deck.
