Distressing in this case is actually quite a job. The fabric is high-quality wool, twill-woven, from Scotland. The actual wool fabric used in real kilts. Which means it is incredibly difficult to wear it down! This fabric is made to last for generations.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20805" src="http://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1402-317x600.jpg" alt="_MG_1402" width="317" height="600" ="https://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1402-317x600.jpg 317w, https://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1402-150x284.jpg 150w, https://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1402.jpg 450w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 317px) 100vw, 317px">

I´ve cheated a bit since it´s for theatre, adding velcro for quick on-and-off change. Not authentic kilt-fabric, but it is wool. A boucle yarn. And incredibly warm and comfortable. I love wearing this in the fall. I made the little sporran as well. Made it from black leather and a bit of seal-fur. And adding a button in the front. The white fur pieces are probably goat-fur, I can´t remember. It is so practical. Just enough room for that you need. Money, phone, keys and lipstick.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20808" src="http://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1403-450x503.jpg" alt="_MG_1403" width="450" height="503" ="https://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1403.jpg 450w, https://www.spindelmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MG_1403-150x168.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px">

Today´s production is a woolen kilt for Mr Smee (Captain Hook´s right hand… no pun intended) It´s ready sewn, but will need

Read More

[13

post-4629","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-costumedesign
["GET
