I know they are for sale, printed pirate-flags very cheaply. But I didn\u00b4t want a pre-fabricated dime-a-dozen black-and-white pirate flag. I wanted a handmade one, in softer colors, with softer edges.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/MG_3448-450x300.jpg\" alt=\"_mg_3448\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" =\"https:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/MG_3448.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/MG_3448-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\"><\/p>\n<p>So I used a meter of plain, black cotton Then I made myself a \u201cbrush\u201d by wiring down a piece of cloth on the wrong side of a brush (the top), and used chlorine to bleach the pattern onto the fabric. I did this in the morning, when the day was at it\u00b4s lightest, so I could work outside. Our barbieque-table with a glass table-top is still outside, and I wanted to work in fresh air while \u201cpainting\u201d with the chlorine. Actually it\u00b4s the exact opposite of painting. The chlorine subtracts color from the fabric. The motif is around 2\u00d72 feet I guess, and I am really liking both the warm colors-tones and the subtle edges.
