I feel it is a good thing at the end of the year to look back at what the past year actually has brought me, both pain and pleasure. Gratefully, the ladder is the large majority. Honestly, when I think about it, I can\u00b4t remember any really bad things happening in my little world this year. I know for the rest of the world, sadly, this is not the case. Nonetheless, I will focus on the positive in this post, and share 12 highs from 2016 with you.<\/p>\n

I\u00b4m a student! Taking a masters-degree as an adult is both challenging and very rewarding. I am spending more time than I initially thought I would, but that is mainly because I find it very interesting and want to excel (which doesn\u00b4t come by itself).<\/p>\n

I often count my year\u00b4s highs in Things-I-haven\u00b4t-done-before, and here are a few of them.<\/p>\n

For the first time, I made a large, 100% sustainable outdoor art installation \u201cHesje\u201d, honoring the ancient west-coast farmer tradition of drying hay. we got a surprising amount of publicity, and a lot of \u201clikes\u201d on Facebook on the Norwegian farmers association \ud83d\ude42 Also it was the first time I drove a tractor \ud83d\ude00 Ha, ha, ha\u2026<\/p>\n

For the first time, I made an all textile art-exhibition. It was a also a first to cooperate&amp;nbsp;with a museum in a project as this. I\u00b4m feeling quite proud of the result, and have gotten a lot of good feedback on it. Even men and kids enjoy it \u2013 the men usually stop to look at the sexy(?) underwear and the kids run straight for the textile cubes to build and climb.<\/p>\n

For the first time, I have entered the world on Physics! After an incredibly interesting conference at my college, I was introduced to major scientists within the fields of particle-physics and astro-physics. There is so much I don\u00b4t understand, but I am thoroughly enjoying it anyway! And I\u00b4ve now got at least a dozen new friends from all over the world!<\/p>\n

For the first time I got to deliver art on not just one, but TWO platforms! I\u00b4ve also delivered art to two offshore ships. I love my work!<\/p>\n

Even so, the best days are the days spent with dear friends and family, like here: at Easter in the sunny & snowy mountains.<\/p>\n

Lucky me, I get to hang out with this cool, little dude and his sister almost everyday! The best neighbors ever!! (My baby-sister and her family)<\/p>\n

For the first time, I (kind of) learned how to hand-make a glass. A crash-course for beginners (with a lot of help!). Oh, the joy!<\/p>\n

For the first time, I visited Japan! And Curacao in the Caribbean. No matter how comfortable Curacao was, Japan is totally unbeatable! It is on my top-three-list of favorite countries (haven\u00b4t decided which the other two are). It is AWESOME! The culture, the history, the art, the people! <\/em>I absolutely love it! And speaking of firsts: I also held my very first talk there. A proper presentation about eco-scenography and the Global Science Opera project at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. It is so cool, I am envious of my own experience! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Back in Norway, straight on to this years second theatre-performance in which I had the scenography. The first was \u201cSm\u00f8rbukk\u201d in Oslo, the second one was \u201cThe black comedy\u201d in B\u00f8mlo.<\/p>\n

But the really big premiere, was \u201cGhost Particle\u201d, this years Global Science Opera. Since it is part of my master-thesis, I am now involved in this amazing, international, creative collaboration. Here I am in the TV-studio, where all the live-streaming and pre-recorded scenes were put together and transmitted live. So exciting!<\/p>\n

And just before delivering my exams in December, I followed a group of Master-students in biology, in their quest to make a creative presentation of their scientific results. They did really great, making a full-size board-game, complete with a large dice to roll and cards with facts and challenges. So proud of them!<\/p>\n

I don\u00b4t believe in new year\u00b4s resolutions. But the past years I\u00b4ve had a couple anyway.<\/p>\n

1. Learn something new.<\/p>\n

2. Travel to a place I\u00b4ve never been before.<\/p>\n

3. Spend more time with my family and friends.<\/p>\n

This year I think I\u00b4ve actually managed to fulfill all three of them. And since I am FOR recycling, I\u00b4ll do just that: these are the new years resolutions for 2017 as well! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n
