Paradise. The most beautiful place I think I\u00b4ve ever been. With such beautiful and interesting people.<\/p>\n

Certainly one of the greenest. Both literally and metaphorically speaking.<\/p>\n

A small island-state, quite autonomous, ins West-Africa. Only 7500 inhabitants. That\u00b4s less than B\u00f8mlo! The rich nature was overwhelmingly beautiful. It was hot and humid and rich and green and beautiful!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Sundy is the plantation where the expedition was based, and the photos were taken in the garden. The expedition sent out by Eddington, in order to prove (or not) Einstein\u00b4s Theory of General Relativity, by photographing the solar-eclipse on May 29th, 1919.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And this is the local gang who will make artistic history! Dedicated young high-school students, accompanied with Joana from NUCLIO and Rita from CERN.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Faulkes Telescope project provided us with real-time telescope-time &nbsp;(telescopes in Hawaii and Australia), where the students could program them via internet to focus on different constellations in the sky.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here, the gang is working on their land-art solar-eclipse, made with flowers and plants.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Trans-Atlantic collaboration via Skype and google-docs, this really feels like innovative education! &nbsp;One group in Principe, one in Sao Tome, one in Sobral (Brazil and one in Campos (Brazil). The challenge: how do we make the General Relativity Theory into theatre?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I am so grateful I had Joana and Rita with me to translate and help with the science. Also Nicole in the US was available for frantic Skype-meetings when there was science I didn\u00b4t understand.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The final day in Principe, filming the scenes for the opera, and interviewing the students for feedback to improve the project and for my phd. Such a great gang to work with!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

My final days in Sao Tome, I held two workshops for the teachers (and some students) at the Portuguese International School, one in the GSO methodology, and one in eco-design.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The participants were challenged into making site-specific land-art installations of the solar-eclipse, using what they could find of materials.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I did sneak in a free day with an excursion. I et these lovely Portuguese people at the hotel, and went along thier sightseeing, and boy am I glad I did! Again, for more photos, see my Instagram.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n
